Measurement Results

Barium titanate (High Dk)

- Samples with Dk (ε') ranging from hundreds to thousands — even beyond 10,000 — can be measured.
- Note: Extremely high-loss materials may not be measurable.
Key Point!
- Not only films and rectangular samples — powders can also be measured!
- For materials like PTFE and alumina, measurements on powder samples yield permittivity values comparable to those obtained from film or slab samples.
- • In addition to low-loss materials, we can also measure high-loss samples with loss tangent (Df) around 0.1.
Accurately evaluating the dielectric properties of powders has long been considered difficult. However, with the right tools, procedures, and expertise, surprisingly precise measurements are possible. From low-loss materials like PTFE to high-permittivity powders such as barium titanate, a wide range of powder samples can be measured.
