Liquid measurements in the millimeter-wave range are often considered difficult or unreliable. However, by applying the right expertise, even existing equipment can be adapted to measure low-loss liquids accurately.
EM labs has successfully optimized its resonator systems—including cavity resonators, split-cylinder resonators, and Fabry–Perot resonators—to measure ultra-low-loss liquids with dielectric loss tangent values as low as 10⁻⁴.
For high-loss liquids, we recommend the free-space method; for low-loss liquids, our resonator-based approach ensures precision.
