Measurement Results

Key Point!
- Ideal for evaluating high-loss materials with dielectric loss tangent of about 0.01 or higher.
- Even when switching instruments, the measured values show no step discontinuity, enabling continuous data acquisition up to 330 GHz.
- Not suitable for low-loss materials unless the sample can be made thicker.
The free-space method can evaluate the frequency characteristics of various materials over a wide frequency range. Resins with different property values were evaluated from 60 to 330 GHz. Although this method is not suitable for accurately evaluating low-loss materials such as PTFE, it is effective for materials with larger loss and for materials that are difficult to process into thin samples.
